  1. The best bet to find Greek fire is the Black Sea; it is deep and dark, and O2 levels at the bottom are perfect to preserve wrecked ships, so a ship from that time sinking and at vootm and finding such a ship with a cargo of Greek fire is the best bet to recreate it using that cargo.

  2. Yes woots lost
No was forced to be forgotten!! By British to make sure Indian use made in London steel !! Same a cotton cloth!!
    Don’t twist the history
People were punished.. cut their hands who produce woots after it was banned!!
There is nothing call Damascus steel!!!
Its crucible steel also called woots
Once imported to Siria by Arab they use to make knives and swords to be exported to Europe!

The pattern in woots is not because of any prints or layer forging but due to manufacturing process of the steel in small crucibles
It was known to people of particular of south India! more than 2000 years ago
These art of steel making was the inspiration of mass scale production in Europe
The art was lost or you may say forced to be forgotten by the British by banning steel production in India! you can understand why
    Very unfortunate
But many did re invented it !!
Many swords are there in British museum which tooted items were made of this steel..
    no offense please
