When it comes to the huang donh yi earthquake detector people seem to forget one thing. Which is that the design gives us grrat insights. Number the dragon symbolises and means that the information was gotten from above e.g God, heaven, miraculous way. The toad signifies that the inventor came up with this method by observing nature most likely frogs. And as the toad waits for the ball to drop so did the inventor wait patiently (possibly years) before creating this device. Another thing the use of a dragon tells us that the inventor got his idea/tools/knowledge for this invention from diffrent places most likely places where a dragons are part of the mythology
