They forgot to mention discovery of the flat earth theory
Science NO. 1 Discovery EVER – (1). The Permanent Atoms of the Periodic Table are The World's ONLY – Perpetual Motion Machines. This means that mankind; the food chain; eco systems were ALL CREATED by God. Why? Scientists can't make ONE single Perpetual Motion Machine. Thanks, Buff.
Ammonia has to be up there
2:54 one other discovery form the colliders, means to make particles by such tech like protons, neutrons and elelctrons and one most important scientific discovery not stated yet, the means n theory to make whole atoms, akak by an upcoming device called the atom former
There is a common party question of "If you could travel to any time in the past, when would you go?" My answer is not too far back. I would not want to live before antibiotics or vaccines, so that really sets the bar at less than 100 years ago. To think: our grandparents had to worry about polio and small pox killing or disabling their children. We don't.
Upon further reflection, I think that if time tourism were possible, there would probably be vaccination programs in place in order to get one's time visa, so maybe it wouldn't be such an issue.
I can’t believe that the HeLa particle didn’t make the list!
GREAT DISCOVERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some of the many scientific verses of the Holy Quran:
1. Every living thing made from H20 ——– “We made every living thing from water, will they not believe?” (Quran, 21:30)
2. Big bang theory ——– “Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them” (Quran, 21:30)
3. Embryology ——– “We created man from an extract of clay. Then We made him as a drop in a place of settlement, firmly fixed. Then We made the drop into an alaqah (leech, suspended thing, and blood clot), then We made the alaqah into a mudghah (chewed substance)…” (Quran 23:12-14)
4. Sky's Protection ——– “And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away” (Quran 21:32)
5. Iron from space ——– “We sent down Iron with its great inherent strength and its many benefits for humankind” (Quran 57:25)
6. meeting of the seas ——– “He released the two seas, meeting [side by side], Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses” (Quran, 55:19-20)
7. Sun Moving in Orbit ——– “And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming” (Quran, 21:33)
8. Mountains as Stakes ——– “Have We not made the earth a resting place? And the mountains as stakes?” (Quran, 78:6-7)
9. Expansion of the Universe ——– “And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander” (Quran, 51:47)
10. Pain Receptors ——– “We shall send those who reject our revelations to the (hell) fire. When their skins have been burned away, We shall replace them with new ones so that they may continue to feel the pain: God is almighty, all-wise” (Quran, 4:56)
I will turn away from My signs those who act unjustly with arrogance in the land. And even if they were to see every sign, they still would not believe in them. If they see the Right Path, they will not take it. But if they see a crooked path, they will follow it. This is because they denied Our signs and were heedless of them (Quran, 7:146)
Only 10? What about ice cream?
For me, General Relativity but I am a physicist. Other than that CRISPR in Biology.
#1 greatest discovery in 2016 when 60 million brainless folks voted trump
What about black holes?
#1 is gonna upset some people, but not me.
BC not BCE! Don't be so offensive
Apartently Karen the Anti Vaxxer from Facebook has more credibility than actual trained doctors.
Half the US population, “Vaccines number one, grrrr Watchmojo is government propaganda!”
The discovery and/or harnessing of electricity should have at least been mentioned.
No honorable mentions?
Big Bang Theory is starting to be debated again. I love when words like consensus are used to infer something as a matter of fact. If that was true we would be back to the first part of this video that the sun revolves around the earth and that earth is flat which both at one time were the consensus.
Penicillin is by far the best thing to ever be found.
I'm inclined to disagree that vaccines are the greatest scientific discovery. Granted, they have saved millions of lives but the also fly in the face of natural selection on one hand (saving a life that otherwise would have been "weeded" out), and propagates it on the other (if your vaccine doesn't kill all of a given germ, the survivors will reproduce thus rendering the vaccine inert). So, because of the vaccine, a weak strain of humanity that otherwise would have been naturally selected out will reproduce to face a more powerful germ that survived the vaccine: we get weaker, and they get stronger. In the short-term, yes, a great scientific discovery; in the long-term, a real recipe for disaster.
So vaccines were discovered before germs were discovered, that's weird.
6:53, yeah I thought there was a fly on my screen
Can I say this Einstein didn't do 80% of his own work. It's was his wife who did and he took credit for it. So he quite possibly didn't come up with equation.
pharmaceutical development, improvement of fetal-maternal medicine (not enough yet), both have lead to longer life expectancy
number one should be starwars
All scientific discoveries are a breakthrough for humanity.
I think all of them are important. One leads to another. I think vaccines and penicillin are the top. I love science and to learn new things 🙂 Good list 🙂
I'd say my favorite came from the guy who had a metal pole shot straight through his head. Following his sudden and drastic change in personality, doctors began to realize that the brain controls one's personality.
Do you know who hates science and pushed back most of our progress? The Christians. For the longest time, they'd kill anyone who would challenge their beliefs.
Vaccines can be #1 but you MUST put Electricity at #2 its literally the reason why humans are even progressing beyond the Roman Empire type of stonework into electronics and unimaginable advancements.
I think Theory of Relativity is very overrated and is already being disproven bit by bit by guys like Roger Penrose. Besides, there is no way we cannot invent space travel because we cannot go beyond the Speed of Light that is just stupid. If God intended us to meet our space alien friends we will need to invent engines that can take us to various far off stars. If God doesn't exist still just screw it I just mean that we will find a way out of this rock. Either way we are going to prove Einstein wrong and get outta here.
